On Sunday, October 2nd, the TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy and nonprofit community StartX celebrated the opening of the first new school in Stanford University, the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, in 70 years. The Doerr School aims to accelerate solutions to global climate crises and sustainability challenges facing people and ecosystems worldwide. In celebration, the Campus Expo Day on Sustainable Clean Energy and Cleantech brings together over 600 students, alumni, StartX personnel, industry experts, and more.

The Expo featured six showings, including subjects such as advancing sustainability, women and DEI in sustainability, as well as scaling for a climate pandemic. Furthermore, founders of StartX appeared at panels to help advise current Stanford students on how to involve themselves with entrepreneurships and startups in the future. The opening of the Doerr School and the Expo on Sustainable Clean Energy and Cleantech will be of great assistance to shaping and leading the fight against climate change in the future.
