Many Institutes for the Environment attended the seminar and delivered speeches on a wide range of energy and climate change issues to the community.

The GCCI is honored to be invited to this seminar to discuss climate change and other related issues with the scholars at the seminar. The audience includes faculty, undergraduates and staff from Stanford University's seven colleges and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, as well as energy professionals from various communities.

The live broadcast of the seminar was also free to the public. The way the Accelerators works is to first identify research topics on social challenges, and then connect those faculty, as well as researchers, and some external partners by providing resources such as funding, technologies, experts knowledge as well as office space support, and try to deliver those research benefits to other Communities.

“With those accelerators, the development and testing of a hypothesis can actually be done collaboratively,” said Jeremy Weinstein, professor of political science in the College of Humanities and Sciences and director of the Stanford Impact Labs. “You are not delivering solutions in an ivory tower. As a trusted partner, you can engage deeply and bring science to the negotiating table, delivering solutions that partners will be willing to advocate, as a result, bringing revolutionary changes to the society.”

Stanford's long-term vision is to facilitate and accelerate the creation of some new knowledge throughsome basic researches, and provide ultimate solutions to  social problems on climate change, education, health and other social problems.

GCCI sincerely hopes to share the knowledge on Accelerators with people from all over the world and will be more than happy to join hands with any partners who are interests in environmental protection to deliver the research benefits to other parts of the world.

GCIC embraces policies on low-carbon emission reduction from various countries, and will actively participate in all kinds of activities held by the United Nations, cooperate with national institutions and organizations, in an effort to help individuals, organizations, companies and countries to achieve sustainable development in economic, social and environmental aspects.
