Dialogue with University of Nottingham Ningbo China: "Sustainable Water"

01 Dialogue: "Sustainable Water"

On March 10th, as spring blossomed, the Global Climate Innovation Center (GCIC) was invited to University of Nottingham Ningbo China to conduct a distinctive exchange on sustainable themes with this internationally-minded institution. This exchange, centered around the theme of "sustainable water," aimed to gather wisdom and collectively explore the future path of water resource management.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Zeyu Yao, a scholar from the Global Climate Innovation Center and a young researcher.

Guest Participant: Teacher Jiatong Wang, project consultant at the Global Climate Innovation Center.

Several expert representatives from the Global Climate Innovation Center (GCIC) jointly traveled to Ningbo University of Nottingham to deliver lectures and engage in a roundtable dialogue on the topic "The Beauty of Symbiosis: Resilient Links Between Society and Water."

02 Communication

At the onset of the event, we delved into an in-depth discussion around the dimension of "resilient management of water resources in urban areas." With the acceleration of urbanization, water resource management faces unprecedented challenges. Ensuring stable water supply for cities in coping with various natural disasters and emergencies through scientific planning and management became a focal point of the participants' attention.

Subsequently, the conversation shifted towards the "implicit knowledge of water management." We emphasized that water resource management is not merely a technical endeavor but also an art. In practical implementation, many seemingly insignificant details often determine the success or failure of management. Therefore, excavating and transmitting this implicit knowledge holds significant importance for enhancing the overall level of water resource management.

Following this, the exchange progressed into the segment of "sustainable water from an artistic perspective." We reexamined the possibilities of water resource management from an artistic standpoint. By combining art with science, we not only inject new vitality into water resource management but also inspire greater enthusiasm for participation, collectively driving the realization of sustainable development goals.

02 Paths & Nature

As we unwillingly concluded this lecture, our curiosity led us to follow the footsteps of University of Nottingham Ningbo China to an exhibition entirely led by the university team, focusing on green environmental protection and sustainable development, titled "Paths & Nature." Observing this series of exhibits alongside the youthful faces around us, we couldn't help but reminisce about the details and moments shared during our team's collaborative exhibition preparations. Perhaps they were once us, and we will be the future reflections of them.
